This business hotel is clean, compact, and functional. Our twin room had reasonable space, and the location is convenient for central Seoul sights and Eulji-ro nightlife. I would have been very pleased with the stay if I hadn't spent so much time arguing about the air conditioning. The hotel advertises air conditioning, but apparently it can provide either heating or cooling, not both at once. They only switch cooling on when the outdoor temperature is above 20 C, even though our room was 27 C when we arrived. A fan was offered, but it didn't do much, and opening the window wasn't really an option because major construction was happening close by. One man at the front desk was especially difficult about the issue. Staff insisted turning on the air con was impossible, though that wasn't true, and gave long, changing explanations about the system. They wouldn't let me speak to a manager, argued with me, and at one point threatened to cancel our stay. The hotel should make clear that cooling is seasonal and train staff to treat guests respectfully. Other guests seem to have had the same issue. It might also make more sense to base the heating and cooling decision on the room's temperature instead of the outdoor one.

The location is a plus: there's good food behind the hotel, and Cheonggyecheon stream is right beside it. But without decent sleep, it's hard to enjoy either. I ended up recommending another hostel about a 10-minute walk from Hotel Venue G, where I had a much more pleasant stay. I was there in November, in autumn, when it was around 8-12 degrees outside. The reception staff and another crew member weren't friendly. Although the room had a temperature control, there were limits on what I could set. At night it stayed around 25-27 degrees, with hot air blowing from the air conditioning unit, so it felt terribly warm and stuffy. When I told reception, the man laughed as if I were an idiot and said Korea was very cold, so they had shut down the cold air system. I explained that my room was hot and stuffy, but he laughed again and showed me the weather forecast on his phone. He was rude and seemed to ignore what I was saying. He eventually suggested a fan, but it didn't help. I had to leave the window open for four nights straight, with a construction site right beside the hotel. I was exhausted and couldn't sleep during the trip.

The subway is very close, and it stayed quiet at night. Still, this second visit left me less impressed than the first. I booked a Budget Room for three nights and a Deluxe Room for one, but oddly the Deluxe Room I received was smaller than the Budget one. The daily cleaning was disappointing too. There were long strands of women's hair stuck to the wall, and the hairdryer handle felt sticky, like it had lotion or cream on it. Kwang Won seemed irritated with me the whole time.

The hotel is between Jongno 3-ga and Euljiro 3-ga stations, which makes it easy to get to major attractions. There are plenty of restaurants nearby, and you can walk to Cheonggyecheon Stream, Gwanghwamun square, and the palace. Airport Bus 6002 is convenient too, with only a short walk if you follow Naver Map. My room was clean and not especially spacious, but I could open two 24-inch suitcases at once. The amenities are basic: no slippers, toothbrush, or toothpaste, but they provide two bottles of water and daily housekeeping. Reception staff were friendly and communicated well in English.

The location is great, near Myeongdong and right in front of cheongyechon stream, so it's a decent budget option. The toilet has a bidet and there's a bathtub. The cleaning lady was really nice, but the front desk staff weren't. My room had no windows and felt spooky.
