Lavilla Hotel

I strongly recommend choosing another hotel in Seoul if you care about your belongings and time. There are plenty of places in the city, and most respect their guests. I give this one 1/10. During my stay, a housekeeper threw away a bag of things I had just bought, which I’d left in the room. These weren’t scraps or forgotten trash, but new purchases in their original branded packaging. Any competent hotel employee should know the difference between rubbish and a guest’s belongings. The staff response was the worst part: instead of acknowledging what happened, they made excuses, saying the employee hadn’t thrown anything out and that the bags were empty.

The location is central and there are some really great restaurants nearby. My room was clean and the bed comfortable, though the bathroom could use remodeling. The staff were especially friendly and helpful, particularly Mr. Seo and Ms. Cho. I lost my phone while visiting Korea, and both of them helped me get it back. I appreciated their concern and help, and it made for a great experience. I’ll definitely book here again.

We enjoyed staying here because the room was spacious, the bed was big and comfortable, and we didn’t hear much noise from either the hall or the street. The TV has 200 channels. Room cleaning is every other day, but you can get fresh towels and water at the front desk each day. The front desk staff were courteous and helpful. This was our first hotel experience in Korea, and we appreciated the value and location. It’s more than 30 minutes from central Seoul, so it suited us for local food and getting a feel for local life. The hotel sits between two subway stations on different lines, which made it easy to return from Seoul. A bus stop for Seoul is a two-minute walk away. There are many good-priced food options 50-200 steps from the door, several open 24 hours, and convenience stores within two minutes. It depends what you’re looking for, of course. A rare nice budget hotel in Seoul’s North West. The room was spacious at 312 sq.ft., with a high airy ceiling, wide countertops, and a good-sized table. Local food and cheaper shops surround it, and the nostalgic street look is a bonus. Line #3 subway is a 10 min.walk away.
