Maxtyle Guesthouse Dongdaemun

The room was spacious, clean, practical, and had a nice view from the window. Breakfast came with an egg to cook yourself, toast, and coffee; you can also heat outside food in the microwave in the reception and breakfast room. There's no daily cleaning, so you'll need to manage that yourself on a longer stay, and bring your own towel and dental kit. The guesthouse sits in Dongdaemun shopping district, with malls nearby, and is convenient for both the subway and airport bus.

The room was huge, even for five people, and I liked the morning view. Free Wi-Fi was fast. It suited me well for location too, close to Dongdaemun Station on lines 1 and 4, and Dongdaemun Culture and History Park on lines 2, 4, and 5. It's in Maxstyle Fashion Mall. The entrance is at the far left of the mall, or you can go through the mall up to the 18th floor. Reception is open from 8am to 11pm. They provide bread and eggs for breakfast, which you cook yourself, and you also clean your own room. There's no room cleaning during the stay. Plastic rubbish bags, amenities, and tissues are provided. Ask reception during its hours for subway maps or travel guides.

Easy to get around from here, and the room is spacious. Breakfast is self-service.

Good value for the money, and it feels like you can stay as if at home.
