The room was unbearably hot, even in winter, and opening the windows didn’t help. The instructions said to ask staff to switch the AC to cooling, but that turned out to be a lie. They said they couldn’t do anything about the system, and staff weren’t helpful at all. A really bad experience.

The thermostat stayed at 28 degrees Celsius, about 80F, even when switched off, and it was still that hot with the window open. The instructions say to ask the front desk to change the air conditioning to cooling, but they told me they couldn’t. I’d already waited two hours and felt like I was literally dying in there, even though winter was supposed to be starting. The front desk guy said he’d check it, then 40 minutes passed. I don’t think he did anything and I think he just lied to me.

The room was okay, but much too small, and I was surprised this was a hotel where a man came in to clean the room. Service wasn’t provided every day. When I asked the front desk, they said I had to hang the magnetic sign on the door if I wanted the room cleaned or just wanted fresh towels. I don’t understand that, since every other hotel I’ve stayed at cleaned daily unless you asked not to be disturbed. The boy cleaning the room also made me feel really awkward.

At around 150-180 usd/ night, this felt like a ripoff. The room was so cramped it made me feel claustrophobic. It had two twin beds, which were actually the top and bottom parts of one springbed arranged side by side. It felt more like a prison than a hotel. I would have canceled if I could. We only started feeling like we were on vacation after moving to another hotel that was much cheaper and nicer. This place should really be called a hostel.
