I slept comfortably in the bed, and there were plenty of outlets, including two USB charging ports. The room itself was a strong point, though the refrigerator made enough noise to wake me at least once. The location near Sungkyunkwan university and the price both get 5/5 from me, since it was very affordable for the area. The bathroom was less successful. Water from the shower could run over by the toilet and took ages to dry. On my first day, the toilet drain was clogged, so water drained slowly and the shower ended up flooding the room. There were no slippers either. Noise was another problem. I could hear people in other rooms and the corridor, as well as sounds from the street. Street noise woke me more than once during my stay. The internet was inconsistent too, disconnecting on its own sometimes, so 3/5 there. Staff were helpful, 4.5/5, but no one is at the hotel between 10pm and 10am, so help may not be available if something goes wrong in your room then.

I never ended up staying here. Getting my money back turned into an argument with the owner and receptionist. I had booked through Airbnb, and after messaging back and forth, I didn’t realize the cancellation policy on the listing I was discussing had been changed. Under that policy, canceling meant losing half my money. I was booking three weeks, so that was a lot, while other listings offered a full refund for cancellations made more than 24 hours ahead. I sent several messages asking them to cancel more than 24 hours before the stay was due to begin, but the receptionist ignored them. I had to bring in a Korean friend to help argue my case. I asked to change the dates first so I could cancel and get a full refund. He kept saying he couldn’t do anything, but later approved the date change right in front of us. The whole thing felt shady, from the establishment to the owners and reception. I’d stay away.

The room felt pretty cramped, and the AC needs a proper cleaning because it smells musty. Construction at the neighboring property is also making a lot of noise right now.

It’s right beside Sungkyunkwan university, with lots of shops nearby, and the area still feels quiet. The room was cozy and the service was great, though I found it a little pricey.
