Sunnyhill Hostel Hongdae

The lobby is super comfortable for hanging out or having a few drinks with friends. The hostel is around 700 meters from the nearest train station, hongik univ / hongdae station, so it’s walkable but not especially close. There are nice restaurants, cafes, and convenience stores around. I stayed one night and had nothing to complain about. The room was clean, and the heater, hot water, elevator, and other facilities all worked and were in good condition.

A simple, nice hostel with an easy check-in and check-out. If you arrive early, you can leave your luggage in the common area. CU mart is very close, and there are lots of coffee shops nearby.

The owner is really nice, and there’s free laundry. It’s quite near exit 2, with a nice, cheap Tonkatsu place right in front of the hotel. There’s an elevator too, which is rare in Seoul.

It’s very cheap, well located near a bus and Hongik university station, and breakfast is included. Most of the workers did a great job, but some, mainly male workers, seemed a little lazy. One wouldn’t deal with another guest’s toilet problem because service time was almost over, from 8:30 - 23:00, even though it hadn’t actually ended. There wasn’t a good reason to put off helping. The towels always smelled, even the ones marked “fresh.” If they got rid of the lazy workers and cleaned the towels better, I’d have given it 5 out of 5 stars.
