The Road

Getting to the hotel door means a bit of a hike every day, even though the location is really nice. An elevator would help, especially for people checking in late and hauling heavy luggage up the stairs. The room also felt too small for a couple, I think. The laundry setup needs work too. Some tenants leave their clothes in for hours, which creates a really long queue.

The location was good, about a five-minute walk from Myeongdong station on line 4. But the hotel is on a hillside, so dragging luggage up from the subway is a pain. There’s no elevator. Check-in is through a kiosk at the front door. There’s no drinking water machine or kitchen facilities, and the room is really just for sleeping overnight. The twin room is tiny for two beds, with too little room to open a suitcase fully. There is a small corner by the counter for free luggage storage.

This hotel wasn't as good as the one we stayed at before in Myeongdong, but the management and staff were so kind and hospitable that it made up for a lot. Being close to Namsan Mountain Park also made the area feel calm and peaceful, a breath of fresh air from busy Myeongdong. There’s no elevator, and the hotel sits on a hill, which could be tough for older tourists. If you’re athletic, though, that can be a plus. A short Namsan hiking trail gives you a chance to shed some weight each morning. I’d recommend the place to younger, physically fit tourists.

The room was much smaller than we expected, which made getting things out of our luggage difficult. Check-in itself was simple, but the security setup worried me: the password appeared on the machine instead of being sent through Agoda, so anyone could walk up, see it, and take the card. There was nobody at the counter in the afternoon or at night. The toilet and room temperature were fine, though we couldn't find the air-conditioning remote. There wasn't a water dispenser either, so I drank from the sink. You might prefer to pick up water at the emart downstairs.
