Khonesavanh Guesthouse

A simple, well-run hostel in a great spot near the night market and main road. Our room was just the right size, and the AC worked. The receptionist was very efficient and arranged a round trip to kungsi fall for 100,000kip, which felt like the right price. There’s also an excellent laundry mart right beside the place where you can get orange juice.

The room we booked was very basic and had no AC. There’s only one shared bathroom for six rooms, and they couldn’t book us an airport taxi before 7:30am, even though they promote that service.

The room is great for the price, and it’s near the city center. Everyone here is really friendly. The Chinese owner is beautiful and good at drinking 🥰

The room was super small, and the walls were so thin that we could hear all the noise and conversation from next door. The shower didn’t have hot water, and there’s no elevator. The building and facilities are old, though they do keep the place clean. They provide bottled water in the room, and there’s free water and a kettle at reception. You can leave your luggage after checkout, ask reception about tours, or rent a bike and arrange laundry. I was told there are morning monk alms on the other street, but I didn’t go to that one during my stay. It’s at the far end of the old city, but the center’s shops, cafes, tourist offices, and temples are still easy to reach on foot since the city is small. They take only kip or US dollars, and the exchange rate for dollars is very bad. The middle-aged woman at reception wasn’t friendly or helpful.
