The WiFi didn't work at all, and the bed and sheets were old and really uncomfortable. The wooden walls had hundreds of holes, so you could hear everything, and the hallway seemed to amplify noise from the hotel next door. It felt like sleeping outside. I wish I'd read the reviews before booking, because for the price I wouldn't recommend this place. We booked two nights but left after one and found a hostel for the same price with much better accommodation.

Breakfast was a favorite, with baguette and eggs cooked sunny-side up, as an omelet, scrambled, hard-boiled, or soft-boiled, plus banana pancakes or instant noodles. You can pick coffee, tea, or a fresh fruit shake to drink. Coffee and tea are available all day, and you can refill your water for free. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful, and our room was clean and comfortable. Just be aware that the stairs up to the rooms are steep, the shared toilets are downstairs, and you can easily hear next door through the wooden walls.

We booked through Agoda, which said our room definitely had its own shower room. When we went to check in, staff said there was no bathroom in our room and took us upstairs to a narrow room with only a bed. The shower was outside, downstairs on the first floor, and getting there meant using dangerous stairs. Nobody would pay that price if they knew the arrangement. Don't be fooled.

The location and breakfast were good, and the banana pancake is worth trying. My room had plenty of space and a desk, though it didn't feel very welcoming. It was clean and the bed was comfortable enough. I had ordered a double but got two twin beds, and Agoda gave me a partial refund.

I felt comfortable here, and the owners are nice. The room was clean, and it was a nice bonus that I could use the common areas at a nearby hotel, which has a lovely view. I had a room with a shared bathroom. The walls really are thin: I could hear the person next door breathing, but they were quiet, so it wasn't a big deal. During sunny days in the dry season, the room got extremely hot and wasn't comfortable for sleeping until very late. On cloudy days it was fine with the window open, and the window looked out over the river. The internet wasn't reliable enough for work, though casual use was okay; it worked well only late at night and early in the morning. My Unitel mobile internet also kept losing connection and slowing down, even though it usually works fine. I'd recommend the place if you don't depend on internet, the weather isn't hot, and you're not a couple planning to make noise 🤐
