The little front yard is a nice place to chat over breakfast, while the sleeping area stays quiet. The bed is comfortable, the AC works well, and I even woke up to roosters. Wu was lovely and helpful with all my many questions, recommendations, and shuttle booking. He speaks several languages, and the breakfast chef was just as kind, making a different dish each morning. One small downside for me was the wet bathroom, with the toilet in the shower room, but I could dry my feet off and manage.

I spent a week here and felt looked after and very welcome. The place and the staff were amazing. Breakfast was good, even though there wasn't a choice, which seems reasonable for such a small hotel/hostel. The outside terrace was nice, and the internet worked well too.

The bed was soft and really comfortable, and both the room and bathroom were clean. Breakfast was delicious. It's right in the city centre, around a 15-minute walk from the nightmarket and main street. The owner was so sweet and helped me figure out what to do in the city and book buses. I'd definitely recommend staying here.

If you're after somewhere calm where you can still meet plenty of travelers, this isn't a party place and could be just right. Shops and supermarkets are only a few minutes away on foot. The rooms are clean, and the terrace is lovely for relaxing out of the sun. Breakfasts and the Friday dinner were amazing, with vegetarian choices too. Best of all, the hosts are so welcoming and helpful, which made this a great place for me as a solo traveler.

Woo was one of the most gracious, principled hosts I've had the pleasure of meeting. He knows the area and Laos well, speaks several languages, and was both flexible and accommodating. I was especially struck when he told me the current nightly rate had dropped below what I'd booked, and said he'd charge me the lower price. Across stays in homestays, hostels, and hotels in more than 30 countries, I'd never had an owner or manager do that proactively. The place is clean and centrally located, yet tucked down a side street where it was peaceful at night. Breakfast was simple, authentic, delicious, and comforting. As is common in Laos, bring your own toiletries and towels if you'd rather not rent them. I'll stay here again next time I'm in Luang Prabang.
