My room had been given to someone else when I arrived, even though I hadn't cancelled. I'd kept the property updated that a business meeting would make me late. The staff offered no apology and actually seemed to find it funny. I wouldn't deal with this place or stay there.

Clean and tidy, with friendly, efficient service. It's a simple, welcoming place on the way to the bus station. I could see staying for weeks, though a couple of nights worked fine too.

The monkey is kept out of sight at the back in a tiny cage where it can barely move. There's also a puppy tied on a leash so short it can barely lie down. If we'd noticed this at the start, we would have left right away. I really urge the owners to give the monkey to a proper rescue organization. If they send me proof that they've done so, I'll take this comment down.

Please let the monkey go. I saw animal abuse here, and the dog is on such a short leash it can barely sit down.

The room was a decent size, clean, with comfortable twin beds and a good shower. HBO was a big plus for films in English. It was also good value at 100,000 Kip, and you can eat cheaply nearby, including a Laos baguette for 10,000 kip just down the road. We'd have given it five stars if the room hadn't been full of mosquitos when we arrived. We blocked a hole in the bathroom's back wall to keep more from getting in, and killed 30. It's well away from the town centre.
