Mr Jep was friendly and attentive. I arrived without a reservation and contacted him on WhatsApp using the QR code on the door. He suggested I book through Agoda because it was cheaper than the price he had quoted. I booked one night, extended by another, and he matched the price. The bungalow is small but comfortable. There were a few small biting ants on the bed in the afternoon, fire ants I think, but the provided bug spray took care of them quickly.

Mr Jep was helpful and quick to respond. He arranged our laundry and even bought medicine for my husband when he was sick, which we really appreciated. We slept well overall, and the bedding and mattress were very comfortable. Our room was set back from the street, and we had a private bathroom, though the other two rooms on the property shared a separate one. We also appreciated the free drinking water and kitchen access, although much of the cutlery and kitchenware was dusty, something we noticed was fairly common in Nong Khiaw. We had booked three nights at Mango Villa hoping for a quiet Christmas in what we thought was a fully private "One Bedroom Villa." The listing wasn't clear, and we only found out on arrival that there were two other guest rooms on the property. The room felt a bit dark and dingy because only one window had an insect net, so we were only comfortable opening that one. Noise carries easily around the property. One night another guest woke us at 2 a.m. by talking loudly on the phone. With no staff on-site, I had to knock on her door and ask her to end the call. I wouldn't choose to stay again because of the shared setup, but I'd recommend Mango Villa to travelers who don't mind sharing spaces. The Booking listing should make that arrangement clear.

I left after four days, though I'd booked seven. At 300,000 Kipling per night, I can't recommend this place and definitely wouldn't return. The constant noise and lack of hot water made for a miserable stay. The room was only one meter from the road, so traffic sounded like it was inside. Motorcycles and cars started up from 6 a.m. on weekdays, and the neighboring village had loud weekend music and dogs barking late into the night. I didn't get one decent night's sleep. The heavy wooden doors creaked and had to be slammed shut, so every bathroom trip and arrival or departure from neighboring rooms was audible. Oil might help the creaking, but I don't know how the slamming could be fixed. There was no hot water for three of my four days. The host replaced the heater after I reported the problem, but the bathroom was shared by as many as six people, and you had to shower first or second to get any hot water. There weren't proper bath towels either, just disposable ones like large paper towels. They didn't work well, especially for long hair, and were terribly unfriendly to the environment. There were a few conveniences: the location was an easy walk to the city center, the bed was comfortable with a down comforter that helped on 16C nights, and the kitchen had a small fridge, dishes, cutlery, a hot plate, and a wok. Bottled water and a hot kettle were also provided. Please improve this, Management.

I used their laundry service and everything went well.
