Namkat Yorla Pa Resort

The breakfast coffee machine was painfully slow, with huge queues, and the coffee wasn't great. That's the main thing I'd fix. We had a huge, quiet room with a lovely river view, enjoyed the pool, and found the staff lovely. There's a walk to a viewpoint with great sunset views. The resort is isolated, with no restaurants nearby, but its own restaurant was lovely and very reasonably priced for a place like this. There's no safe in the room, though you can leave valuables at reception, and I prefer having one in the room. I'd still highly recommend this lovely resort and stay again, but please sort out the coffee machines.

We stayed at the end of March in a room overlooking the river, and the breakfast was excellent. The viewpoint walk was a favorite, with a climb that paid off in a spectacular view. NamKat Yorla Pa is surrounded by lush jungle and feels wonderfully peaceful, a lovely place to unplug and be close to nature. The staff made us feel welcome throughout. Special thanks to Mr. Yom, our jungle guide, and Ms. Win, who was always smiling and attentive to what we needed. A wonderful stay for nature lovers.

We loved the romantic dinner by the fireplace on the terrace, and the kitchen was excellent, with plenty of European and Lao dishes. There's room here for a very relaxing stay or lots of adventure if you're young. You can climb to the waterfall or take the zip line, and we saw beautiful orchids, lots of butterflies, and birds. We'll come back.

The view from our room was lovely, and sitting by the riverside fire pit at night was a pleasure. We enjoyed the wood-fired pizzas, though there's a good selection on the dinner menu. Breakfast had eggs cooked to order, fruit, yogurt, and pastries. The coffee wasn't wonderful, which we often find with automatic machines. We also walked to Nam Kat waterfall, which was pretty, then tackled a few rope bridges and continued up the path. The hike took about two hours and we really enjoyed it. After an active day, the hot shower and strong water pressure were much appreciated. The staff were helpful and accommodating, and their language skills impressed me given the broad mix of guests. Namkat Yorla Pa Resort was a real jungle gem, with lots to do. We loved our stay.
