Soubandith Hotel

The bus booking is what turned this stay into a disaster. I was told twice that an 8:00 PM bus from Pakse to Vientiane had been arranged, and that I could pay the driver. When I checked again at 7:30 PM the next day, the receptionist first said it would come, then, after I asked once more ten minutes later, acted as if he had no idea about the booking. At 7:50 PM he finally admitted there was no booking. The staff were slow and indifferent while I panicked about missing the bus, and I ended up staying another night in Pakse. If they'd told me at 7:30, I could have gone to the station myself. The poor coordination and lack of responsibility wrecked my plans. My booking ID was 1128147375665541 through Traveloka, and I'm prepared to verify the details if the hotel disputes them. The rest of the stay was bad too. The room was dirty, smelled a little, and had almost nothing besides a bed and towels. No shampoo or hairdryer. The elevator smelled so foul I held my breath while waiting on the fifth floor. The rental motorbikes were worn out, with bad tires and a lot of noise, and seemed unsafe. Communication was a struggle. Just one receptionist spoke English, and there was no handover between shifts, so I had to explain everything over again with Google Translate. On arrival, the only decent impression was the wooden furniture in reception. I rarely leave negative reviews, but this place earned one. One star is too much, and I strongly don't recommend staying here.
