8/10
The room was fantastic, especially the very comfortable bed, and I got a complimentary upgrade at check-in. Staff were friendly too. I stayed at the Laotel near the end of my Laos trip, and it was a really nice stop. It's a short walk from downtown, though the surroundings are quiet and there's a large construction site nearby. My room faced the pool, so I didn't hear the work. The soundproofing was good overall, and I couldn't hear the live music bar nearby either. The bathroom was the one letdown: a bit dated, though spotless and functional.

The staff were very supportive, and the hotel is a good fit for a mid-range budget. Its location is great. There is construction right beside the property, though, and it could disturb you if you plan to sleep late in the morning.

A charming place, just a few minutes' walk from the Mekong River. The service team were all pleasant and professional, especially the fantastic front office staff. I had a great stay and would recommend it.

We ended up staying an extra night because the rooms were quite comfortable. The hotel was great for the price and well located, with river cafes within walking distance for the evening. They upgraded us at check-in, and breakfast had lots to choose from.

The pool felt luxurious, and breakfast was delicious, with both local and Western food. The rooms were clean and had a very nice feel. Staff were so helpful, especially the lady who studied in Europe, and reception was friendly and quick to take care of anything we needed. Excellent value for money.
