Mintra Hotel

The rooftop pool has a lovely view, and there's a restaurant on the same level. Prices there are about the same as other street restaurants. It's a four-minute walk to the night market and Mekong river area. Rooms are large, with comfortable beds and pillows, a great shower and bathroom, and a small balcony facing the street. There's free water on the desk, but water in the fridge costs extra. It's all in plastic bottles, with no refill option, so bring your own filter if you want to avoid single-use plastic. The breakfast buffet is huge, with lots of Lao and Western choices.

The gym is functional, has great air conditioning and brilliant city views. Some people complain it's small, but you can do a lot with a little space, so stop whining and get creative. The pool and gym were really quiet. We had the pool to ourselves all Christmas day. The rooms were spacious, clean and very comfortable, with a great bathroom. Lots of good places to eat are on the same street, and the night markets are at the end of it. We didn't eat at the hotel, but did have drinks at the rooftop pool and bar. The staff were brilliant, friendly, always smiling, and spoke okay English. We thought it deserved to be among the better hotels in the capital, especially at these prices. Had a brilliant stay and would definitely come back.

We stayed here before our flight to Bangkok. The staff were super friendly, and the rooms were nice and clean. It's close to the main sights, including the night market. The rooftop pool and bar area are lovely.

The staff were so kind and helpful, especially Linda, who was excellent when we checked out. The hotel was clean, quiet and felt fresh, and the pool looked nice. Great spot for restaurants and coffee shops, with the night market within walking distance.
