The reception staff were very friendly, but I went inside and left quickly. The place felt run-down, with old machinery left in corners and black grime where it looked like no cleaning had been done. The rooms were shabby and old, almost like an asylum in a horror film or game, and I wouldn’t want to spend a night there. It seemed as if nothing had changed in 70 years. This probably wasn’t the staff’s fault, but the owners’ for running the place into the ground.

The laundry came back really clean. It cost 20,000 KIP per kg.

The location was the one good part. The room was so filthy that I checked out as soon as I walked in, and the bathroom was disgusting, with mold all over. I was lured in by the low price and regret it more than anything. I’d never stay again.

Right in the heart of Vientiane, this guesthouse has spacious, clean, comfortable rooms for low prices, good value compared with other two-star hotels and guesthouses. The service is excellent, the staff are friendly, and the front desk staff speak excellent English. Laundry is available on site.

The busy road makes it pretty loud, and there were several mosquitoes in my room. I asked the cleaner for spray, used it, and it took about 40 minutes to do the job. There’s a nearby market, and the room’s electric water heater is pretty good. I’m only here for a one-day visa run, so I can put up with it. For a vacation, I’d suggest finding another place.
