The little shop out front is nice. The girls running it are pleasant, polite, and helpful. The construction next door is awful, with grinders, cement mixers, hammer drills, and sledgehammers being the sounds that stand out most. I've stayed in much worse places, but the staff there were always friendly and cooperative. Here, I'm not getting any cooperation, and it's unfortunate we couldn't come to an agreement. This review would be very different if we had, and maybe that will happen later. Right now, though, I have food poisoning, can't sleep, can't work, and feel bad for the proud CEO, CFO, CMO, and others whose pictures are on the lobby walls. I'm Canadian, and it seems I've found the one place on earth that doesn't care about that. I'm a white guy, so I expected racism to be a thing, which is fine, I'm not a snowflake or political, but I do expect professionalism. The front desk day guy, if the owners knew, I don't think he'd have a job much longer. Honestly, I don't think they check in often, which has given him more freedom than he should have had. I don't ask for fresh things every day. I clean up my room and don't ask for much at all. Once a week, cleaning staff can come in and do what they need, but here things are different. My wife chose this little place, and in hindsight, paying twice as much for a better hotel was the only choice. I would have done that. I'll put in my time, leave when it's time, and hope never to see this hotel again. I've been all over the world and have several million followers. Many people seem to plan vacations around what I review, and I can't in good conscience lead them astray. I would have preferred to leave a much better review, and I can steer you away from this hotel. I hope this helps people coming to Laos, but I promise you'll have a much better time literally anywhere else. Please do so.

The room was filthy and full of mosquitoes. Room service was awful too. They knocked at 10 AM to remind us to check out, even though checkout is at noon, then came back and knocked several more times before we finally left at 11:45.

This hotel is cheap, but I was unlucky enough to get a bad room. Customer service was really bad, and if you get a poor room, you can't switch. There's only one air con remote in the whole hotel. You have to ask for a water bottle each day, and if you forget, you don't get one. They don't clean the rooms daily either. They forget all these guest services, but they don't forget to take your money. The lobby has Wifi6e, but the WiFi in the room is too slow to use anything.

I made a plan to stay for 3 days, but left early because the hotel was terrible and far from the center. It didn't feel like a budget hotel either. The staff couldn't speak English. First, they gave me a very bright room overlooking the street, with a torn curtain. The old-fashioned air conditioner didn't seem to work, and I couldn't control it with a remote. It was funny that staff had only one remote for all the rooms. The wooden wardrobe door wouldn't close. I asked to move to another room, which seemed okay at first. Then the toilet wouldn't work and got stuck. Haizza. The facilities in both rooms were old and in very bad shape, so I quickly ran out.

The maids were incredibly friendly and willing to help, but the guy at reception treated me like I was a nuisance. The room was dirty, and I had to clean the bathroom myself. You can't control the air conditioning or TV because there's no remote for either. It was far too expensive for what they offer. I travel a lot, and this was probably the worst place I've stayed. I regret spending 3 nights there, especially since I found much better, cheaper places in a much better location.
