Crowne Plaza Hotel Beirut by IHG

The breakfast was quite good, and the staff there were very nice. The rest of the stay was disappointing. Staff didn’t answer emails, couldn’t speak French or English, and weren’t welcoming. The room was outdated and dirty, with bits of something on the hard floor. The TV sat behind a thick post, all the bathroom faucets leaked, and there were no toiletries or slippers. The thermostat didn’t work, so I turned it off because it made no sense to leave it on. A bulky structure, apparently meant to be a desk, blocked the way to the bathroom. If I wake up at night, I want to get there without an obstacle course. For a costly hotel claiming five stars, I expected much better. It felt like a two-star hotel with one-star facilities and staff. The second star is for breakfast.

The rooftop pool is amazing, and the gym is fully equipped and easy to get to. I always choose the Crowne Plaza Hotel when I visit Beirut, and the reception team’s warm, fun, professional welcome makes a great first impression. Breakfast has lots of variety, with Lebanese flavors and culture presented beautifully. They remember that I like a room with a balcony, and once upgraded me at no extra cost when my usual room was booked. I appreciated that gesture of care for IHG members. This hotel deserves more than five stars.

The room has been a real disappointment so far. It’s old and much smaller than I expected, the view doesn’t match the online photos, and the mattress is extremely worn and uncomfortable. Even the towel smelled unpleasant. I honestly didn’t expect these issues from a hotel of this standard, so I’ve told my travel agency I might switch hotels today or tomorrow. I’m sharing this respectfully and hope the feedback is taken seriously and something can be done to improve my stay. I’m happy to be staying at your hotel, and I try different places, from five-star to three-star, to make tourism accessible to the people who follow my travels. Lebanon is beautiful, and Beirut is amazing, with kind and welcoming people. We had some reservation problems, but Wajih, Ayad, and Youssif helped us sort everything out with a smile. Their customer service was amazing. The hotel was clean and the location was fantastic, and we left happier than we arrived. Best hotel in Beirut.
