Hotel White House

The location worked well for us, a few minutes from the main street, bus station, shops, and restaurants. We were there mainly for the safari, about an hour away. The staff were welcoming and usually spoke good English, though I’d double-check requests because misunderstandings sometimes happen. Breakfast had plenty of options, and the eggs made to order were a highlight. The chairs, though, are extremely heavy. The pool looked inviting, but I didn’t get to try it, and I hope the gym gets restored and reopened soon. The rooms look grand at first, but need some upkeep. A few bulbs didn’t work, and the bathroom needed a thorough clean. The hotel has tried to keep pigeons off the third-floor balcony, but it hasn’t worked completely, and the mess needs more regular cleaning. It’s a good hotel, and a few small improvements could make it great.

Ms. Achini, the restaurant manager, made our stay especially memorable with her professional, warm hospitality. Breakfast was delicious, with a good spread to choose from. The place has a comfortable feel and well-kept facilities, and the staff were friendly and attentive throughout. A lovely spot to relax, highly recommended.

The outside entrance could use more greenery and a tidier parking area. People often form their first impression from the exterior, and improving it would help. Inside, our triple room was clean, comfortable, and well maintained, and the price felt like excellent value. The morning breakfast was thoroughly enjoyable. The staff were very hospitable and helpful, especially when they opened a normally closed side entrance so my mother, who had difficulty with steps, could get in more easily. We had a very pleasant stay and would definitely recommend White House Hotel.
