The sunsets, wildlife, and natural surroundings are breathtaking. There are all kinds of birds and animals around, including peacocks, cows and elephants. During the week I lived here, I felt close to nature and to myself, and forgot about society. It was more than meditation for me, and this will be my best memory of Sri Lanka. I loved this peaceful, beautiful place from the moment I arrived. I’d highly recommend it to everyone.

I can’t find words for this place. Spending a magical week here with nature all around was wonderful. I especially recommend it if you’re looking for a vipasana style system detox. Just soak up the natural surroundings. The rooms are great too, and felt safe and cozy throughout the day.

There’s a small lake on one side and a big paddy field on the other, and the setting is really lovely. Mankada Resort is a hidden paradise for a quiet break from busy life. It’s around 15km from Anuradhapura City, but takes only 15 mins to get there. Service was quite excellent, and the food was so good. The only issue was the wash room condition, due to bad water in those areas.

Mankada Resort is in Kudagama, in the Anuradhapura District Region, about 15 kms from Anuradhapura, and has views of the lake from its terrace. Free private parking is available. The air-conditioned units come with a flat-screen TV, towels, bed linen, and a private bathroom with a bidet and bathrobes. Some also have a terrace and/or balcony. A fridge and kettle are provided, and there's an on-site restaurant for meals.

We stopped here for breakfast on the way to Vavuniya. The buffet was really good and very reasonably priced, and the washrooms were clean. It's a beautiful place in a good location, with rooms and a reception hall as well.
