We ended up paying 5,000 rupees for a few hours there and left without staying the night. The room cost 6,000, and after the owner asked for an advance we paid 5,000, left our bags, and went on a boat tour. When we returned, the bathroom was very dirty. Asking for soap upset the woman, and after showering we discovered there were no towels. She got more upset when we asked and said we'd have to pay for one. The towel was old, stained, and full of holes. The AC didn't work either, so we decided to leave. We figured getting our advance back would be difficult and didn't ask for it. We hadn't slept in the bed, only used the room to store our bags and shower. As we were leaving quietly, the owner saw us and got upset that we still owed her 1,000 rupees. She made a scene over it even though we wanted to leave. We couldn't believe it. A very odd place.
