Dalmanuta feels like a little peaceful resort, a real escape compared with other places in Sri Lanka. There are only nine lovely, well-furnished bungalows, set among amazing spacious gardens, and the bed was the most comfortable I've had in any accommodation. Food was delicious, and I had fun at a cooking class with Athula. The guys were generally very nice and always smiling, even on long shifts. I do think their shifts should be split more so they can enjoy their personal lives too, not only Dalmanuta. Morning yoga was a bonus, the massages were great, and the boat trip to the beach was fun. Maybe the boat schedule could be adjusted a bit, since it leaves at 12 noon. The ocean was rough in March, though that's nothing to do with the place. It's a gem.

A relaxing stay, though the bungalows could use some modernising. Breakfast buffet choices were very limited, but the chef will make something to order.

There were lots of bugs and mosquitoes, and the towels and beds were dirty. The place generally didn't feel very clean. It is a lovely garden beside the river, though.

A riverside Ayurvedic hotel with lovely nature views. It has individual cottages and fully Ayurvedic spa therapy.

The cottages are lovely and the staff are attentive. The Wi-Fi is a problem here, but Athula the chef is the real gem of the place.
