We were at Thaala Hotel from 10th Jan 2026 to 12th Jan 2026, and the sunset from the beach right in front was a highlight. The pool was lovely, and buffet had a wide range of great food. During buffet service, Pramodya, Tharaka, Dasun, and Amandi were friendly and attentive. Our room was spacious and clean, and the beautiful hotel made for a very comfortable stay. Excellent service and stunning views.

The beach was paradise, with beautiful sand and sea that were perfect for a morning walk. We spent 12 days here and loved the grounds, the excellent food, its flavour and variety, and the relaxing pools. The staff were so welcoming, and Nishadhi, Amandi, and Pramyoda were very attentive. Isuri was great at the bar. The train line directly behind the hotel was our only minor issue. It wasn’t very noticeable in the daytime, but at 5am the trains sound their horns, so light sleepers should take earplugs. We’ll definitely return.

The chef even made me a bowl of soup when I asked, and all the staff were helpful, making sure I enjoyed my stay. The spa is excellent. I had a body massage, facial, and reflexology, and I’ve never had such an amazing massage. The hotel’s warm hospitality and attention to detail were faultless.

A beautiful view of the beach and a lovely sunset were part of a memorable stay. The rooms were spacious, clean, quiet, and very comfortable, and the large pool was beautiful too. We really enjoyed the experience. I recommend this place for a peaceful vacation.

Thaala felt like one of Sri Lanka’s best places to relax, with a huge, peaceful garden and a pool area that never felt crowded. The staff were very friendly and helpful, and reception gave us a warm welcome. They put us in a very good room, which was clean and nicely arranged. Our whole stay was awesome.
