We were very happy with the service and would love to come back next time. The staff were excellent, and the spacious room had nothing to complain about. Its magnificent view took in the ocean and the surrounding skyscraper building.

The lobby makes a calm, welcoming first impression. It’s beautiful and carefully maintained, and the overall ambience of Morven Hotel Colombo is quiet and peaceful, which I really appreciated. I arrived late, but the bell boy was welcoming and brought my luggage up to the room. Check-in and checkout were easy, and the receptionist was friendly and helpful. Getting picked up or dropped off from the main road is convenient. It can be busy there at times, but the dedicated drop-off area helps.

We came here for our first night in Sri Lanka after a long flight, before continuing on to Kandy, and it was a comfortable, welcoming place to rest. The staff were excellent from the start, spoke English very well, offered to take my luggage to the room, and were available whenever we needed something. The room was clean, tidy, and spacious enough. There was no fridge, but the restaurant staff thoughtfully kept our perishable food and labelled it with our room number. The rooftop pool was a nice bonus, especially for a refreshing dip in the heat after travelling. Dinner at the hotel restaurant was a buffet and genuinely delicious, though at 4,800 LKR per person it was on the pricey side. We used the PickMe app to get around Colombo. Our TukTuk from the airport took about 1hr15mins and cost 2,300 LKR. A car from the airport to inner city Colombo costs between 4,000-6,000 LKR plus a 500 LKR highway toll. The thoughtful service made this a lovely start to our trip.

They upgraded my booking from a Superior King City View to a Superior Sea View, and the view was stunning. The room itself was basic but spacious, with a clean room and bathroom. There was free Wi-Fi and a large smart TV, which I appreciated. Hot water didn’t work during my stay, and not having a mini fridge was a bit inconvenient. A decent stay, mainly thanks to the view.

The location is ideal, close to key parts of Colombo while still feeling calm and relaxing. The facilities were well maintained, and the hotel’s overall feel was stylish and welcoming. My experience at Morven Hotel Colombo was wonderful, with modern, clean, comfortable rooms and great attention to detail. From arrival, the staff were warm, professional, and extremely helpful, and made me feel truly welcome.
