Srilax

We picked Srilax for its clean, affordable rooms in a quiet spot close to the main attractions, and the lovely cafe and staff downstairs. The family room, their largest option, has its own balcony, though all the rooms are clean and nicely decorated. It's on the first floor of a cosy building, with Cafe Kumbuk on the ground floor. The food and matcha there were absolutely delicious. Checking in ourselves was easy, even late at night. One thing to keep in mind if you're new to travelling: they only acknowledged our booking a few days before our stay. WiFi was a little slow, but that didn't matter much since we had enough mobile data. I'd gladly recommend staying here when visiting Colombo.

The rooms were really clean, and the staff patiently helped us with all our questions. The cafe downstairs is fantastic too. Highly recommend!

Really kind staff and a great price, and honestly the best place to stay in Colombo! Here's a photo of me and my friends after a lovely breakfast at Kumbuk, all sleeping like Snorlax 💤

The neighborhood is nice, though a little quiet and out of the way. You'll need tuktuks to reach the other Colombo sights and busier areas. It's a lovely place, with friendly staff and a great cafe attached.
