Hotel The Kingsbury Colombo Hotel

The warmth and care from the staff were outstanding, and the professionalism felt on another level. We felt welcomed, valued and looked after throughout our few days at the hotel. From the doorman to the gym team and everyone else we met, the service went beyond anything I've experienced before. Having lived and worked around the world, I can honestly say Sri Lankan hospitality is something the West could aspire to. Special thanks to the front of house director, he was brilliant! We stayed in room 710.

The meal and setting at The Kingsbury Hotel were both lovely, and the drinks hit the spot. What I’ll remember most, though, is how well we were looked after. Mr. Jaakey, the Restaurant Manager, was especially warm and helpful, and the whole team paid attention to us. Really first-rate service. Keep it up!

We slept badly because traffic noise came straight through the room all night. Cars and buses were easy to hear, and for a hotel at this level the windows need much better soundproofing. It’s a real shame, since the rest of the stay was very good. The room and bathroom looked lovely and were well kept, valet parking was handy, and the gym had plenty of equipment. Breakfast had a great spread, too. Staff were professional, welcoming, quick, and helpful throughout.

Breakfast was a highlight, with fresh fruit, Sri Lankan dishes, and international choices, all tasting fresh and good. We also liked the clean, well-kept pool and the location, close to the beach and main sights but still peaceful. Our room was spacious and tidy, with a nice balcony view, and housekeeping kept it that way each day. From the welcome drinks and smooth check-in onward, the staff were warm and attentive. The restaurant team helped whenever we needed, and management checked that guests were comfortable. A wonderful stay that went beyond what we expected. We’d happily return and recommend it to anyone visiting Sri Lanka.
