Ranmal Tourist Inn is 400 m from the famous Dambulla Cave Temple. Guests can eat at the on-site restaurant or order room service, and free parking is available. There’s also free WiFi and a 24-hour front desk. Rooms have a bathroom with a shower and free toiletries, as well as access to a terrace. The property also offers bicycle rentals, entertainment staff, grocery delivery, and a tour desk. It’s a five-hour drive from Colombo and a four-and-a-half-hour drive from Bandaranaike International Airport. SLAF Anuradhapura Airport is 55 km away.

The food was great, both breakfast and dinner, and the host was friendly. I also really liked the pretty, peaceful garden.

The garden has hammocks where you can relax in the sun, and the private bungalows are lovely and equipped for a comfortable stay. The location is handy too, about 500 meters from the Golden Temple and the bus stop for Kandy or Sigiriya. Our host prepared an excellent meal and served it in a nicely decorated outdoor dining room. The owners keep a low profile but were attentive whenever we had questions. We’d gladly return to Ranmal Tourist Inn. I highly recommend it.

It’s less than a ten-minute walk to the Golden Temple, which is one of the few things I liked about this place. There are five small, very basic bungalows, each with a narrow veranda facing a little garden. My room was clean, but the tiny bathroom was filthy. Music and guests talking made it noisy late into the evening. I wouldn’t recommend it.
