Leos Home Stay

Leo’s Home Stay was peaceful and hassle-free for our three nights. The rooms were comfortable and clean, and the property is kept in very good shape. Our hosts were kind and always willing to help with whatever we needed. I’d recommend it for a homely stay.

The washroom stank, and turning on the tap brought out a bad smell. We couldn’t get hot water either. It was a mess. They charged us 5000 LKR a night, but it wasn’t worth even 1000 LKR. They gave us the room unprepared just so they wouldn’t lose the money.

This is a peaceful, affordable homestay near Marine Drive, and Dominic was responsive by phone even when he wasn’t there. The incident with the dogs was frightening, though. When I entered, two dogs were roaming loose, including a German Shepherd. They charged at me, and I fell and twisted my ankle. The host regretted what happened and helped with first aid and everything else. Fortunately I recovered quickly, which was the only thing that could put my mind at ease.

For a low-budget stay, clean rooms and a comfortable bed are what I want, and this place has both. The staff are pleasant and helpful, and you can borrow bikes. It’s very close to the beach, with a grocery store and restaurants within walking distance. There’s filtered water for refilling your bottle, plus a fridge and small kitchen.
