Ayubo Ella - Bed & Breakfast

We arrived without a booking after finding the place on Google Maps and asking about a room at the last minute. The staff quickly got a clean, comfortable room ready. The hotel is at the end of a narrow road, with convenient car parking nearby. Our lovely, well-kept room had the necessary amenities, hot water (no AC), tea and coffee-making facilities, plus water bottles and a dispenser. The view was beautiful, and our dinner was delicious, served in a nicely arranged dining area. The owner and caretaker were incredibly friendly and kind, which made the stay enjoyable. Highly recommend for your next stay.

Mithula was a gem, kind and helpful throughout, with local tips and travel help. When we arrived late at night, he came to pick us up himself. The breakfast was amazing too. Our rooms at Ayubo Ella were spacious and spotless, surrounded by peaceful greenery, and we even had a peacock visit our balcony in the morning! 🦚 Really recommend it for the warm hospitality 🌿✨

Mithula and his team made me feel at home, treating me like family and helping with transport and recommendations. The food was another highlight, with generous portions of delicious, fresh Sri Lankan breakfast that felt like a cultural experience. Ayubo Ella is peaceful among rice fields and mountains, yet only a short walk or tuk-tuk ride from Ella town. I loved waking up to the view from my balcony. My room was clean, spacious, comfortable, and had everything I needed. One of my best stays in Sri Lanka, and I’ll definitely come back.

Mithula made our trip unforgettable. He arranged rides, showed us a hidden waterfall, and took us to a local tea factory so my 18-year-old could see the rainforest and tea plantations firsthand. He never once pressured us for money. We knew it was a business and made sure to show our appreciation, but his kindness and enthusiasm for sharing his hometown felt genuine. The spotless property offers far more service than you’d expect from a small hotel, and the views are breathtaking. The place has a big heart, with staff who really care about their guests. The hospitality felt like something you’d get at a $300-a-night place, not $30. We stayed a few days three weeks ago and were blown away by what we got for such a reasonable price. Thank you, Mithula, for a once-in-a-lifetime experience. I wholeheartedly recommend it to anyone visiting Ella. ❤️
