Ella Adam's View

You need to walk the last 50 meters to get to this hotel, which is at the end of a narrow road lined with small guest houses. The view of little Adam's peak is stunning, and the service and breakfast are excellent. The rooms are small but clean.

We had a horrendous night trying to sleep. The bed was like concrete, the room was dirty and full of insects, and the bedding was filthy. We weren’t given towels, and couldn’t use the shared toilet and shower cubicle because it was full of bees. We had to climb down rickety stairs to get there in the morning, and there were at least 30 bees inside. When we complained, the host said “only bees” and tried to shoo a couple out. These photos were taken when he said it was okay. In our opinion, it was not okay at all. We were shoved into a shed above the tiny shared toilet cubicle. This place is nothing like the pictures they advertise, and I urge you to avoid it. It ruined our holiday!

We had a horrible experience with the staff and owner, who told us to get out and repeatedly threatened us. The photos are extensively edited, there’s no privacy, and the place isn’t somewhere to go for a relaxing stay. We saw bed bugs, the toilets were dirty and smelled bad, and the hotel staff didn’t respond to any of our complaints. This is not a place to stay, especially if you’re looking for privacy or peace of mind.

The setting was unusual and kind of cool. You can’t get to the apartment by car or tuk tuk because there’s no road, only a walkway. You’re right in the jungle, with a perfect view while having breakfast. It’s farther from Ella center than the other hotels. The worker was kind and caring, but didn’t speak English, so it was hard for us to understand each other. The room looked untidy and there were bugs in it, which was pretty disgusting. There was no AC either. I probably wouldn’t go back.
