In January 2025, we had a wonderful stay in this beautiful villa overlooking the lake. The pool was fabulous, with the same lovely lake view, and the rooms were airy and bright, with good cross-ventilation, overhead fans and aircon if needed. The mosquito nets around the beds worked very well. The villa was comfortable and tastefully decorated. Breakfasts were excellent, and the villa chef cooked some wonderful Sri Lankan food from scratch. It's easy to get around locally on foot or by tuck tuck. The beach is nearby, and for a day out you can even take a bus into Galle.

Two families have recently taken over this slightly dated villa and turned it into a fantastic retreat for couples and families. From the infinity pool and several places to eat or hang out, there are jaw-dropping 180-degree views across Koggala Lake. The live-in team, including the chef, are friendly and incredibly helpful. They make everything easy, whether it's massages, yoga, day trips or scooter hire. It's less than five minutes by bicycle to the beach and beach clubs, local shops and restaurants. A taxi from Colombo airport gets you here in under two hours. Galle, Unawatuna and Wellagama are all nearby, and we're already looking forward to coming back.
