Leisure Mount View Holiday Inn

I've stayed at Leisure Mount View more than five times, and each visit has felt unique and memorable. My favorite is the rooftop room with its balcony and wide views over the hills and surrounding landscape. Waking up to that scenery is unforgettable. The hotel has a peaceful atmosphere, a great location, and lovely mountain views. Its comfort and hospitality make it one of my favorite hotels in Sri Lanka. I'd recommend it to nature lovers or anyone looking for a relaxing place with wonderful views in Haputale.

The Sri Lankan breakfast, with string hoppers and creamy curries, was delicious. The staff were friendly and helpful, and the room was clean and comfortable. They had reserved a 4th floor room with the best view so we could choose what suited us. The garden was full of lush plants and colorful flowers, and we loved waking up to the sky, drifting clouds, and mist that rolled in and out through the day. We arrived late, around 7:30 p.m., and thought checkout was the usual 12:00 p.m., but it's actually 10:30 a.m. No one hurried us. At 11:15 a.m. a staff member gently asked if we were staying the 17th as well, and that's when we found out. We packed up and checked out right away, and they were completely understanding. They even gave us breakfast at the room-only rate. Fantastic service. Highly recommend Haputale Leisure Mount View Hotel.

The owner checked in on us at dinner and again in the morning to make sure everything was going well. Everyone was kind and generous, and we loved the garden sitting area among all the plants and blooming flowers. My sister and I stayed one night, and the bed was by far the most comfortable we've ever slept in. The room looked brand new, with gorgeous furniture and a breathtaking view. It was great having an enclosed shower so the bathroom floor stayed dry. Dinner was delicious Biriyani, made to our preferred spice level. Breakfast came with fresh fruit, coffee or tea, eggs cooked how we liked, and assorted bread and pastries. You can enjoy the same gorgeous views from the dining area. If you're in Haputale, there really is no better place to stay. I promise you won't regret the time spent at this luxurious hotel.

The owner’s kindness really made the visit for us. He welcomed us warmly and even shared Avurudu sweets, which felt so thoughtful. We also loved the fresh, carefully prepared food, and the mountain scenery was stunning at sunrise and sunset. The quiet setting is great for unwinding, with viewpoints and hiking trails nearby that made exploring easy. I’d recommend it for a peaceful nature break with lovely hospitality and food.
