The rooms have been renovated recently, and the beds are comfortable. There was some daytime noise while they worked on the rooftop bar area, but it’s for a good reason. Once they finish, the rooms should be back to their usual quiet. Sorry we missed seeing the renovated bar. Great hotel.

Really good value for the rooms. The rooftop bar and restaurant are among the best, with a backpacker vibe, very friendly staff, great food, and beer.

The food at the restaurant was amazing, and its staff were very polite. The hotel staff at Dumbara, though, didn't seem to care about guests and don't know how to treat or speak to them. I was very disappointed. Don't stay here just because there are no rooms left in Kandy. Don't go to this place.

The rooms were spacious and great, with AC and a fridge in each one. We could order food upstairs, which was handy, and the hotel is about a 10-minute walk from the temple. It’s on the main road, with a lot of stairs to climb, and there’s no parking. We stayed with all my family to watch the Kandy Perahera (parade). They gave us the upstairs rooms and rooftop access, but we watched comfortably from a room facing the road. Get there earlier to check in, since roads close and get busy. If you’re there for the parade, keep in mind that outsiders come into the hotel to use the toilet and rooftop. Overall, 9/10.

The rooms were private and the shower was delightful. There’s a rooftop bar with views, though I never tried the food. Five stars for all the wrong reasons. Don’t forget to check out the RH&B.
