MOI Induruwa by DBI Hotel

We booked three rooms for a stay with friends and had a great time. The view was magnificent, and the rooms were clean and comfortable. The beach was very clean too, and the staff were friendly and helpful. The food was even better than expected. Highly recommended! 🌊✨

The food was a highlight, with everything tasting great and full of flavor. The staff were really friendly and stayed on top of things throughout. The rooms were clean and well kept, and the hotel is right beside the beach, almost like having our own stretch of sand.

The rooms were nice, and we had good food, including a typical Sri Lankan breakfast in the morning and a BBQ at night. Our class road trip stopped here first last month, and about 30 of us booked the whole place. It's a typical Sri Lankan beachfront hotel, with a lawn where we played cricket and a pool too. The village is small and sits on the main downsouth road. There's not much to do at the hotel besides relaxing by the beach and enjoying the sun.

We planned to stay two nights and three days, but left after the first night because the experience was so disappointing. This doesn't feel like a four-star hotel, and the online listing is misleading. I can't tell whether Booking.com or the hotel is responsible, but the photos make it look much better than it is. The staff were polite and tried to help, and the backyard lawn opens onto the beach, making it a pleasant place to sit. The beach itself didn't seem safe for swimming or surfing, so I wouldn't recommend bathing there. The room was cramped, with an awkward pillar taking up space and nowhere to put luggage. There was no cupboard, no towels, and no toiletries in the washroom. A non-transparent glass divider separates the washroom from the room, leaving the washroom area very cramped. Although there's a TV, none of the channels are subscribed, so it's practically unusable. The design and facilities are hard to square with a four-star rating.
