Silan Mo Hotel

The location is right on the beach, and our room had a stunning view. That was the main positive for us. The hotel feels seriously dated. Rooms are old and tired, and the facilities badly need refreshing. There’s no lift, which made getting luggage up and using the upper floors very difficult and inconvenient. The food was also disappointing, lacking quality and imagination for a hotel in this price range. The property seems to rely entirely on its prime location. With the building and amenities in their current condition, and the food quality so low, I wouldn’t recommend staying until it has had a major renovation.

The location is super amazing, but the stay wasn’t worth it. There’s no security, and the balcony is shared between rooms with no lock on the gates. Bathroom taps leaked, there was no water service late in the evening, and the rooms weren’t proper. We were on the sixth floor with no lift. The pool was unclean and poorly maintained.

The view is mind blowing, and the room itself is okay. The food quality is good too. There’s no lift, though, so you have to climb the stairs to get to the restaurant and pool, which are on the fifth floor.

We appreciated having separate towels for the beach and pool, and the hotel kitchen kindly kept our drinks chilled and even brought them up for us to enjoy by the pool. There’s no refrigerator in the rooms, though. The rooftop pool is big and deep, and staying open until 10 pm made it lovely for a dip after a day at the beach. The location is ideal, right by the beach and close to restaurants, shops, and a petrol pump. Our spacious room had a roomy balcony and a lovely beach view. The higher floors have even better views. A few maintenance issues came up, including chipped paint, a broken bathroom lock, and an air conditioner that wouldn’t switch off. There’s no lift, which could be a problem for some, but they let you know at booking and staff helped with all our bags.
