Camelot Beach Hotel

The staff across departments were excellent, friendly, supportive and hardworking, and the rooms and grounds were very well kept. The location was good too. But my recent FB-basis stay was disappointing. None of the meals were buffet, probably because occupancy was low, but I wish they’d told us when we booked that buffet might not be available. The set menus were poor and offered little choice. There seemed to be more managers than guests, and I saw management unnecessarily shouting at staff, even over one extra fan that should have been switched off. The food quality was low: the fish seemed very old, Froot Loops and corn flakes were going rotten in their containers, and the sausages, the only nice item, were kept out of sight so we had to ask staff to serve them each time. The mango cheesecake tasted fake, as if it was made with gelatin or something instead of cream cheese. I don’t blame the chefs, since I think these were management cost-cutting decisions. With occupancy under 10%, they still wanted extra payment for a late checkout. I’d only asked for another 2.5 hours so I could manage with my one-year-old baby, especially after they expected us to accept poor set menus because occupancy was low.
