Hotel Sico

During the cyclone, the staff were incredibly kind and helpful. The hotel sits on higher ground, so the water stayed outside. The power went off in the storm, but they gave us soup at no charge. Dinner service at the restaurant was a bit slow at times.

Hotel Sico was an easy trip from the airport, and I liked its quiet little spot among other good hotels. Negombo beach is a five-minute walk away, lovely for an early stroll. My room was spacious and clean, and matched the Booking.com photos and description exactly. From the room and balcony you can see a strip of ocean. The pool was well kept, and there’s a rooftop bar with lovely views, though I didn’t spend time there. Staff were friendly and helpful, and the amenities felt worth the price. Breakfast was the weak point: it’s a fixed menu with little variety, and the taste didn’t match the rest of the hotel. Clean, comfortable, well located, and professionally run. I’d give it 8/10 and stay again if I’m in the area.

The staff made our stay, they were so friendly and cooperative. My wife and I had a wonderful experience from check-in through checkout. The sea view from the terrace was breathtaking, and the room was spacious with a modern design. There’s a lift, swimming pool, rooftop bar, and plenty more modern facilities. They gave us a welcome juice, which was a nice first taste of the stay. The facilities were much better than at hotels in Europe, and the price was reasonable. Highly recommend it. I had a good stay at Hotel Sico about a year ago. The service was friendly and very good, and my room was clean and comfortable. I’d recommend it.
