Eden Hill Hotel

The misty outlook over Gregory Lake made the setting feel special, and the generous parking was handy. Inside, our room was spacious, clean, and well equipped, and the staff made us feel welcome from the start. We had a fantastic stay at Eden Hill Hotel and would happily recommend it for a peaceful visit in Nuwara Eliya.

Gregory Lake is right across the road, and the location and view were just right. The rooms weren't that good, though, and the food was only okay. It's a short walk to the lake.

The lake view was lovely, but the room itself was cold and damp. The towels were wet, the bath mat was dirty, the shower head leaked everywhere, and the walls needed a fresh coat of paint. There was no kettle and breakfast wasn't included. Coffee wasn't available until the restaurant opened after 8.30. To make matters worse, they tried to charge us twice.

The location was the one good thing about this stay. The rooms were in bad shape, with dirty curtains and tables, and the beds were filthy and clearly hadn't been looked after. The bathroom was dirty and didn't work properly, and its exhaust fan opened straight into the corridor. They advertised a restaurant, but there wasn't one. Food was brought in from outside and it was terrible. They also couldn't meet our meal requests. A deeply disappointing experience.
