Our room got a little damp overnight. It may have been from the shower the night before or the area's humidity, and our belongings felt slightly moist. That was the one downside. The hosts were superb and made sure we had a great stay. Breakfast was lovely each morning, and the whole stay was exceptional value. The setting is quiet, set back from the main road but near plenty of restaurants. Lion's Rock is about a 20-minute walk, and there's also a huge lake nearby with rice fields around it, glowing a gorgeous green. I'd definitely recommend it.

The room was simple but excellent for the price, and breakfast was huge. The family were so kind, especially sundyah, who cooked brilliantly and was always helpful. They arranged a 5am tuktuk to Pidurangala rock with their son, and also a taxi down to Ella. Amazing stay at latikha. I'd stay again and recommend it to anyone heading up to sigiriya.

The surroundings were peaceful, with lots of greenery and birdsong, and the room was neat and clean with a comfortable bed. I paid just USD 11 for one night in a "Standard Double Room" with AC, a double bed and attached washroom. Lathika, his wife Sundiya, and their son are such a kind, welcoming family. Lathika speaks only a little English but was very helpful, and Sundiya speaks easily with guests and took great care of us. We arrived at 8:30 am instead of our 11:00 am check-in time after a journey of more than three hours from the Airport. Sundiya greeted us with a smile and fresh, cold orange juice, and Lathika got the room ready quickly so we could check in early. Sundiya cooked tasty vegetable fried rice for lunch for USD 3. Her son drives a tuktuk and took us to Pidurangala Rock and back for LKR 1800/USD 6. Sigiriya Rock is about 2 km away, roughly a 25-minute walk. The main road is a five-minute walk from the place, with cheap local buses and tuk-tuks/auto rickshaws available there. I'd recommend this for a budget stay close to nature, with a friendly, homely feel. 🌿

We travelled from Australia and had a great stay. The bed was good, the showers were warm, and we were close to Sigiriya lion rock and pidurangala rock. The owner was kind and made us a lovely traditional dinner. We also ran into a little family of pets. Wonderful experience.
