UG and his family were the most accommodating hosts we met in Sri Lanka. They did everything they could to make our stay at rock gate incredible, and the dogs were the cutest in the whole country. The rooms were basic but clean and comfortable, just what you’d expect for the price. It’s a few minutes out of town, but when we asked, a tuk tuk was ready within 5-10 minutes. We also had authentic, tasty Sri Lankan food for breakfast. Thanks so much to UG and family!

U.G welcomed us like true friends, and we left Rock Gate Resort with full hearts. The atmosphere felt wonderful and authentic. He even cooked for us for the first time in his new tree house, and both dinner and breakfast were amazing. Highly recommended for anyone visiting Sigiriya ❤️

The owner was really helpful, sorting out tuktuks and an early pickup for sunrise. The room was clean, and the place is peaceful with beautiful surroundings. From the breakfast area you can see the Lions' Rock, and across the road there are boulders you can climb to watch the sunset. Walking into the city takes about 20min, with lots of birds and beautiful nature along the way. We had a great experience and can only recommend it.

We loved staying in the Treehouse, such a unique place. The owner and family were warm and welcoming, and they made homemade chapati for breakfast and packed a lunch for our onward journey. They were flexible about timing, arranged a private car and driver for our transfer, and even mailed my forgotten headphones to me afterward. Everything was perfect. Highly recommended!

We experienced real Sri Lanka hospitality here. The owner cared about his guests and was very helpful, and the rooms were comfortable. Breakfast was delicious. An amazing experience.
