I was there while my official guests were staying at the hotel, and I was glad I didn't have to stay overnight myself. The building looks like a luxury hotel, but the rooms were poorly maintained and smelled bad. We even had to pay extra to switch rooms because the lock wouldn't work. It was an unpleasant experience. For family or work visits, I'd look for a nearby homestay instead.

I wouldn't recommend this place for events or parties. The service was very poor, like a third-rate hotel. The manager, Thushara, didn't seem to know how to treat customers.

The food was good and the customer service was okay, and the prices were low enough that I could put up with some of the problems. Still, for a hotel that calls itself the best in the region and claims to be three-star, the conditions need to be better. It looks nice in photos, but the place itself was horrible. The pool hadn't been cleaned, yet guests in AC rooms still had to pay the pool-use fee. Neither the AC nor non-AC rooms were maintained or even swept. My room had cigarette butts scattered around, a broken window that wouldn't latch, and an attached bathroom that smelled of cigarette smoke the whole time. The bathroom wasn't clean either, with grime on the tiles, and its door wouldn't lock. The staircase to the rooms was especially dangerous. Several steps were uneven or broken, and the whole stairway was slippery. A number of people nearly fell and only just avoided getting hurt.

This was our third visit in seven years. It's a nice place, and the food is good. Local people seem to use the hotel as a social spot. The pool looked neglected, so I skipped swimming, and a few areas could use some care.

It was getting dark, so the hotel's nearby location was convenient, and from outside it looked fine. Inside, though, my room wasn't clean, smelled a bit odd, and had no soap, shower gel, towels, or toilet paper. I asked for supplies and ended up waiting in the lobby for half an hour in my underpants while someone went into town to buy toilet rolls because the hotel had none. A young couple were taking wedding photos there at the time, so I'm sure my appearance became a memorable part of their day. The WiFi didn't work, and the kitchen looked dirty, so I ate elsewhere. There was also a constant, dreary sound of Islamic chanting over the system in the evening and again in the morning. With a bit of care and attention, the place could be fine, but they seem content to let the chanting drone on. Poor.
