Praneeth Guest House

The private way onto the beach was the highlight. We saw lots of fish and turtles, and the booking included sunbeds and snorkeling gear. They also recommended and booked a whale-watching tour for us. We stayed three nights in two rooms, each with a large fan and AC. We’d first booked a room without AC, but Praneeth changed them when we asked. The beds were comfortable, the shower had hot water, and breakfast was fantastic, with omelette, tea, bread, butter, jam, pastry, smoothie, and more. A real gem run by kind people. I truly recommend this guesthouse.

The private beach at the end of Turtle Beach was lovely, and the rooms were clean. The family who runs the hotel and their staff take such good care of you. Best place to stay in Mirissa. We’ll be back!

We came in hungry after swimming and were told we could use the shower if we bought food and drinks, which we were happy to do. But just five seconds after we sat down ready to order, the waiter said the owner no longer wanted to serve us. The service was very poor, and I felt the owner had racially profiled us. I’m a Sri Lankan living in Melbourne, visiting Sri Lanka on vacation, and this was truly disappointing. Tourists should think carefully before supporting this business. We went to Machan 24 Pub & Restaurant nearby instead. It’s a nice family-run place with a local feel, beachside seating if you ask, and food served on clay plates. I recommend going there or somewhere else rather than Praneeth Guest House.

The owner was arrogant and uncaring. I stopped by yesterday, ordered juice, and planned to have lunch, but left because of his disgraceful behavior. Awful service. I don’t recommend this place to anyone. Shame on you, Mr. Owner.
