The owner was incredibly welcoming and kept checking what we needed and how things were going, which made us feel cared for. The hotel also arranged our safari. Janaka was a helpful driver, and we saw lots of wildlife. Breakfast was free and absolutely delicious. The owner asked us about our food preferences beforehand, which we appreciated. Lunch was generous and tasty, although the way it was served could be a little better. Our room and bathroom were very clean, and hot water was always available. The room had a sofa, TV, kettle, hair dryer, clean towels and a lovely cabinet. Soft lighting made it feel attractive, and the bedside lamp added a romantic touch. There were lots of valuable books on the rack, which we enjoyed reading from the sofa. The beds were super comfortable. Outside, the flower-filled garden was lovely, and the clean, child-friendly pool was a few metres from the rooms, about 1.3 m deep. There was also a basketball area. The whole place felt calm and relaxing. We were confused by the service charge, as it hadn't been explained clearly at the start. Some prices, including bottled water and spirits, were higher than we expected, so clearer pricing would help. Still, we had a wonderful, unforgettable stay in Udawalawe. I'm very satisfied and highly recommend this hotel to locals and foreigners. 😊

After I couldn't reach the owner of another hotel I'd booked for hours, I called this place in the middle of the night. The owner welcomed us so warmly and got a room ready for us. The apartment was really big. In the morning, the kids played in the swimming pool, and she made us a delicious breakfast at her home. This lady saved me. She has a heart of gold, and I highly recommend staying here.

The breakfast and hospitality were really nice, and there’s parking too. It’s a good place, and I think you get your money’s worth.

We’d definitely recommend it. It’s a peaceful, friendly place with a lovely pool, warm hospitality, and a great breakfast.
