The owners were really welcoming and even arranged a great safari for us. We were about 15 minutes from the park, and the meals, breakfast and dinner, were fantastic. Our little house was clean, comfortable, and surprisingly spacious. With all the plants and its small garden, the compound felt like a peaceful little oasis.

The room had a lovely balcony where we could sit with tea and watch the tropical rain. It was beautiful and comfortable, and the stay was made even better by how smoothly everything was arranged. Tiron, the owner, coordinated a safari for us, and the guide knew a lot about the animals and spotted wildlife so well. Before we arrived, communication had been quick and easy too. We could take our time over breakfast after the safari and check out without feeling rushed. We had a fantastic time at Mansala Safari House and would happily come back.

We spent three days and nights at Mansala and had such a good time. From our room we could see all the greenery, with birds and squirrels making noise nearby, and everything inside was clean and well kept, including the toilet. There was AC in the room. Inoka and Tiron made us feel at home with their service and home cooked food. Tiron set up a six hour safari with pick up and drop, water, binoculars, lunch, and Sheran as our laid-back, knowledgeable guide. It’s about five minutes by tuktuk from the elephant transit home, which was a lovely extra. I’d absolutely recommend staying here for a visit to Udhawalawe National Park.

We loved the peaceful setting, tucked into nature, and the accommodation was clean and tidy with AC and a fan. Tiron and his wife were so friendly and made us feel welcome. Tiron arranged our six hour safari with Sheran driving, and taking the longer tour meant we could enjoy the national park without rushing. His wife also made us a great breakfast in the morning. A really enjoyable stay at Mansala Safari House, and we’d recommend it.

The room was comfortable, and having air con was a real relief. The family cooked some incredible food, among the best we’ve had in Sri Lanka so far. We headed out for safari at 6am, and our host packed breakfast and coffees for us to take along. He also gave us bottled water for the trip to our next stop and helped with transfers. We were welcomed with cake and a drink, and the private outdoor shower and washroom were stunning. The host was so kind throughout.
