Weligama Ocean Breeze

It was a great place to finish our trip. We spent three nights in the family sea view room, with plenty of space and a neat feel. The bathroom had hot water and good ventilation, and the AC was among the best we had all trip. The pool was warm and clean, with cocktails or beer available if you wanted one, and there was an outdoor shower for rinsing off the sand and salt. There were hammocks and comfortable chairs around the property, so we could relax outside the room, and everything was kept tidy. The beach was perfect for surfing. Order the Sri Lankan breakfast the night before, it was really nice.

The restaurant food was delicious, and the staff were wonderful. Our room was clean and comfortable. We also liked being just across the road from the main beach, with cafes and restaurants an easy walk away.

Our room was spacious, clean, and good. The service was attentive, and the hotel feels cozy right by the beach. You just cross the street to reach the sea. The Sri Lankan buffet in the evening was fantastic and delicious.

The kids especially liked the pool's 2m deep end, and the pool and gardens at the back were well maintained. We stayed in deluxe double and triple rooms on the 2nd floor with sea views. Rooms were clean, beds comfortable, and the AC worked well. The bathrooms looked modern and had warm showers, though the water pressure could have been better. With the balcony door shut, we couldn't hear the busy Coast road thanks to the good soundproofing. There was no kettle or tea and coffee in the rooms, but the mini bar drinks were reasonably priced. Breakfast was good and service friendly throughout. A plot behind the hotel is being developed, but it didn't disturb us. The hotel is across the road from the surf part of the beach, near higher end hotels, ‘Kai Beach Club’ near Marriott, and plenty of cafes within a few minutes' walk.
