The bed was more comfortable than I expected, and the room was okay, though pretty basic. It was reasonably clean, with towels provided but no other extras. Breakfast costs 15 euros, but I skipped it. I arrived at Auberge Gaglioti at about 10:30 in the evening on October 4. Reception had closed, but someone was still there to let me in. They spoke mostly Italian and, I think, some French, with little English, so we had some trouble communicating but got by. The nighttime atmosphere made me uneasy. There were unfamiliar people around, and the area didn’t feel especially safe. Still, the stay was fine for what I needed, if not memorable.

Lovely location. It’s family-run by Italians, so you can guess what’s on the menu. Breakfast was amazing.

The street felt safe even late in the evening, and the property is very close to the train station. I had a large room with all the basics I needed during my one-night stay. There’s no elevator. Breakfast was offered for an extra €15 in 2024.

The manager was helpful, the rooms were reasonable, and the spaghetti carbonara was really nice. It does what it says on the tin.

A good budget option. The hotel is simple but clean, and there’s no elevator, so it’s better suited to younger guests without luggage than to older people or anyone carrying bags. The neighborhood can feel a little creepy at night, as can the area around the main railway station.
