Mr Hostel

A peaceful, laid-back spot for a short stay, and only a short walk from the main rail station. I was told the owner-manager turned his large apartment into this compact hostel, and runs it with his girlfriend. Nice people, and the place is so easy.

Mr. Hostel won me over so much that I stayed in Riga a few extra days. It's a tiny place, so it's easy to meet other travelers, and I spent a lot of time hanging out with them. The owner, Luis, is helpful too, and will point out some of Riga's focal points on a map as soon as you arrive.

The staff were friendly and greeted me with a hot cup of coffee, and the place is well maintained. It's conveniently located near the bus station, with easy access to the town center and many Riga attractions.

Bathrooms, beds and kitchen were all clean, and they've thought through the little things. They even provide extension cables so you can have your phone charger socket near your pillow. The hostel has everything you're looking for. The only thing I'd add is breakfast, on top of the free coffee and tea.
