Naughty Squirrel Backpackers Hostel

The rooms were dark and quiet, which made it easy to get good sleep after going out. Showers were clean, and having hairdryers available was a nice touch. There’s free breakfast too. There’s a lot going on here, even in low season. The volunteers put together pub crawls, beer tastings, quizzes, movie nights and other activities, and there were events every evening, sometimes in the afternoon as well. One day they even arranged an AK-47 shooting activity, which was wild in a good way. You can also play beer pong, table football and plenty of other games. The group chat makes meeting people simple, and most guests seem to be here for a social time. I had trouble booking without a credit card, but one quick phone call got it sorted. The owner is very involved in what happens each day and tries to make things good for everyone. If you’re in Riga solo or with friends and want to socialize and go out, this place is a great fit.

The pub crawl was a blast and good value. The hostel was really clean, and the staff were so friendly, putting on activities day and night. Best hostel I’ve stayed at in ages.

A big plus was the number of bathrooms. Our floor alone had at least five toilets, which made a real difference compared with the other hostels we stayed in that week. The location is fantastic, and the staff were very friendly and glad to suggest local favorites and things to see. We didn’t join the social events, though it did seem like a very social place, and everyone we met was welcoming. I’d definitely stay again.

The staff were the best part for me. After I lost my phone, they let me use their facilities to contact my bank and book a flight. Mike, Donna, Monikah, and the rest were incredibly kind, and I don’t know what I’d have done without their help. The location is incredible and the rooms are comfortable. I can’t recommend this place enough.
