The staff were professional, knowledgeable, and keen to help with information about the hotel and area. Edmonds was especially helpful, and everyone deserves credit. They even remembered it was my birthday trip and arranged a surprise from the kitchen that day. We also enjoyed a couple of evening drink specials at the bar. We chose the hotel for easy access to Riga Old Town and the Christmas Market. From Riga Bus Station, where we arrived by bus from Tallinn, it was a quick 15-minute walk. The building looks modern outside and inside. The lobby is spacious, and check-in was quick. Our room was bright and clean, with USB charging ports, though you'll need an adapter for US plugs. Breakfast had a wide range of Baltic and English foods, and I believe they can make an omelet if asked. It was quiet all three nights, so I rested well. I enjoyed the stay, and have included a few hotel photos along with shots of the area and market.

We'd hoped to stay at the other Hilton in Riga, but it was sold out. After this visit, I'd definitely choose this hotel again if we return. We were traveling the Baltics with our toddler to see the Christmas Markets, and the stay was amazing. Room 611 had a stunning view, and the snow on the rooftops made it feel magical. Our little one was sure she was in a castle. The location puts you right where you want to be in Old Town. The room was very clean, the bathroom floors were heated, and breakfast was delicious. They even had a waffle maker with whipped cream, and on weekends breakfast ran from 8 a.m. to noon, so we could sleep in and take our time. The restaurant was very good, and we used the laundry room. At check-in, Victoria, whose Latvian name spelling I can't remember, took time to give us a map and explain the area. She also had a little finger puppet to entertain my three-year-old. 10/10, Hilton for the win this time.

Nothing seemed to work properly. The kettle leaked all over when I boiled water, with a risk of electrocution. The walls were thin enough that every step could be heard, even someone plugging in a phone. For what we paid, the stay was a disaster. Our room was meant for three people but had no windows, and we couldn't get rid of the rotten toilet smell. They offered another room for two, without an extra bed, so three adults had to share one bed. At reception, one woman answered questions arrogantly, with a pathetic expression. Other guests were also a pain in the back, making jokes about us and our children. The staff were shockingly unprofessional and seemed uninterested in doing their jobs. Basic requests got eye-rolls, sighs, or outright refusal, and attempts to raise problems were ignored or dismissed. Nothing was explained or handled properly, and nobody took responsibility. Complaints were met with excuses, lies, or silence. There was no hospitality, accountability, or respect. This was some of the worst service I've experienced anywhere. Hilton Garden Inn was a horrifying experience, unlike other Hilton chains. I would not recommend it. Choose somewhere more expensive if needed. I regret not checking reviews before booking, and wouldn't trust the positive ones. Look at the bad reviews instead.

We had a clean, excellent room and friendly, welcoming front desk staff who were very helpful. The location in Old Town made it easy to reach the main sights on foot, within a pleasant 20-minute walk. Central Station and the market were also an easy 10 minutes away. We enjoyed our three nights and were happy with our choice. We'll definitely stay here again on our next trip to Riga.

Our room was clean, comfortable, and well maintained, though the view was disappointing because of construction nearby. The location made it easy to explore Old Town and get around. At reception, the lovely staff welcomed us warmly, gave us a city map, and offered useful tips on what to see and where to go. We had a great stay at the Hilton Garden Inn Riga Old Town.
